FLEA AND TICK MEDICATION: HIGHLY recommended, especially during the warmer months March-October. We suggest using ONLY Frontline Plus due to it’s effectiveness. Ideally it should be applied 1-2 weeks prior to coming. We sell Frontline in the lobby for $15 if your dog isn’t on a flea and tick regime but would still like protection. Currently, flea and tick medicine is not mandatory but there is always a possibility your dog could leave with fleas or ticks if not on a flea/tick regime.
MEDICATION: If your dog is on medication please bring your dogs preferred treat (cheese, peanut butter, pill pockets, etc) to administer the medication.
To ensure proper and accurate medication administration, we like the pills to be placed in a Monday-Sunday pill box with name of your dog and instructions clearly labeled. If you don’t have a Monday-Sunday pill box, we have them behind the front desk for use while your dog stays here.
SUMMER MONTHS HOT PAVERS: During the hot summer months, please have your dogs walk beside the pavers on dirt while walking up to the front door. Pavers can get quite hot for dog’s paws. We have sunshades and trees but they don’t cover every paver so please think about your dog’s paw pads. He/she is barefoot!
LEASH: All dogs must be on a leash when entering or leaving the building. Please don’t leave leash with us UNLESS someone else is picking up your dog. If someone else is picking up your dog, the leash must have dog’s name on it or label attached with dog’s name. We ask that all owners be aware that we are not responsible for missing leashes. By leaving your leash in the lobby, it is understood that there is a possibility another owner might mistakenly take your leash.
COLLARS: All dogs must wear a flat collar; no training collars, prong collars, or harnesses are allowed. Harnesses can easily get chewed off when boarding.
VACCINATIONS: All dogs MUST be current for all required vaccinations (Rabies, DHPP (distemper/parvo) and Bordetella). We will accept titer tests in lieu of vaccinations. We will also honor a verbal or written statement from your vet regarding your dog’s vaccinations (ex: if a dog has reacted badly to a vaccine and no longer receives that vaccination). Heart worm (intestinal parasite protection) and Canine Influenza are recommended but not required.
FOOD: Please put dog food in large zip lock bags (or any bag that will fit into a 11″ high, 13″ x 13″ space). Label the bag(s) with your dog’s name and portion they receive per meal. It is easiest if you pre-portion out your dog’s meals into small zip lock bags. This eliminates any chance of accidentally over- or underfeeding your dog. If you do individually bag the food, put those individual bags into a large bag. If the amount of food is greater than 3 large zip lock bags, bring the food in a sealed tupperware container that has a latching or screw-on top. Please do not bring the extra large bags of food. We do not have enough space to store that large amount of food and there is a higher chance of another dog eating the food during feeding times. We also will not accept a bin/container that does not lock, latch, or screw shut. These pose a higher risk for hungry dogs trying to find food while in the kitchen. If you do bring a non-locking tupperware container, we will charge $15 to put the food into a latching container which you can take home. If you choose to use our house food, there will be an additional charge of $3 per day. Our house food is a conglomerate of all different types/brands of food. Please DO NOT bring measuring cups, bowls, toys, blankets, bedding, etc. We will provide all this. You are welcome to bring treats for your dog that we can give them at their feeding time. We feed twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. If your dog is used to eating three times a day, we can accommodate and feed them during lunch time. When checking in for boarding, every customer will be asked to fill out a feeding sheet we provide. Every customer is required to fill out a feeding sheet for every boarding stay, in case portions have changed or new medication is added.
DAYCARE PACKAGES: As of May 1, 2013, we have started offering daycare packages. We feel monthly packages enable us to accurately staff the facility. It gives us a better understanding of how many dogs to expect for the month and we want to reward those customers who come more frequently. Please make reservations for daycare to help us better staff for each day. Our database enables us to make one-time reservations and also recurring reservations (ex: if you want to come every monday and wednesday, we will put a reservation in for every monday and wednesday until you tell us to cancel the reservations). If we reach capacity for the day, we will turn away any dogs that do not have a reservation. If you have a reservation but cannot come that day, please call or email us to cancel so another pup can fill up that spot!

Our database enables us to make one-time reservations and recurring reservations (ex: if you want to come every monday and wednesday, we will put a reservation in for every monday and wednesday until you tell us to cancel the reservations). If we reach capacity for the day, we unfortunately will turn away any dogs that do not have a reservation. If you have a reservation but cannot come that day, please call or email us to cancel so another pup can fill up that spot! Please try to give a minimum of 24 hour notice for cancellations.
CHECK OUT TIME: Check out time for boarding dogs is 12:00 p.m. After 12:00 p.m., a day care charge of $30 is applied. When checking in your dog for boarding, you are welcome to bring your dog at any time during the day! Please try to check your dog in before 4pm on drop-off day so your pup can get some energy out to sleep well with the other dogs that night!
HOLIDAYS: Holiday reservations will only be held with a $50 credit card deposit per dog, starting in 2014. Your reservation will not go into the system until we receive your deposit. The holiday deposit is non-refundable and will be credited towards your bill when you check out for that stay. If you cancel your holiday reservation, your deposit cannot be applied to any future bills. To view the holiday boarding rates, please check the “Rates” tab.
NEUTERED AND SPAYED: All dogs over the age of seven months must be spayed or neutered, or they will not be accepted. Please call or email us if you have any questions regarding this policy.
PAWS: Doggie waterparks are a new trend but some parks throughout the nation are finding that the dog’s paws are getting rubbed raw or getting sore. We have made some design changes within the pool and play yard to eliminate this issue. If you’re concerned about your dog’s paws or your dog has sensitive paws, we recommend applying Tuf Foot to dogs paws 1-2 weeks prior to coming. Every dog’s paws respond differently to the turf and pool surface, depending on the condition of their pads and/or if they are used to walking on different surfaces prior to coming to the facility. If your dog has a propensity to get ear infections from too much water activity, this venue may not be a good fit.
COSTS We will need emergency contacts (other than yourself) in case an emergency arises and your dog needs to go to the vet. If your emergency contact can’t transport your dog, Always Unleashed will be reimbursed at $40 per hr for transportation fee.
VET: If any veterinary services are needed during your dog’s stay, you will be 100% responsible for the cost and fees associated with it.
